Synopsis/Review
The
28-paged publication entitled “The Watchman” is a comedy story of a Barbados
situation, and featured a new breed of actors including Spouge specialists,
Lew Drayton, Desmond Weeks (The Draytons Two); and popular Bridgetown
character, King Dyal.
This story has been composed in a complete Barbadian setting.
The dialect is entirely local and scenes in 234 pictures laid out in “comic
book” style have been shot around Bridgetown and in the urban areas of Bush
Hall and Carrington Village.
Apart from the Draytons Two, and King Dial, other cast members are El Verno Del Congo, Andy Taitt, Ty King, Susan King, Mark Ikandor) Bignall, Lorna and Okolo Callender (Timothy’s wife and infant son)
The
production is the first of its kind in the Caribbean, not only through its
dialectical presentation, but also because the characters featured are real,
known and alive.
It is
the perfect medium for bringing about a sense of Barbadian culture.

Review 2
The
photo-novel is interesting in format but it id also informative and helpful
in depicting the impact of adult action and violence on children, caught up
in the scene. It is one more valuable contribution in this International
Year of the Child
